Blue Bird Vision School Bus Recall 24V599: Fuel Line Coating Can Leak Fuel and Cause Fire

NHTSA campaign 24V599, reported August 12, 2024, 8,294 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2018-2021 Blue Bird Vision school buses with 6.8L gasoline engines may have fuel lines whose protective coating was not applied properly. Over time, this can allow the fuel line to leak.

A fuel leak creates a fire risk when it meets an ignition source, so affected buses could catch fire. If you own or operate one of these buses, have it checked as soon as possible.

Authorized Blue Bird dealers will inspect the fuel lines and replace them as needed at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 10, 2024. For questions, contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
