What this recall means for you
Certain 2022 Ford Maverick vehicles previously repaired under an earlier recall may have body and powertrain control modules that fail to detect a change in the 12-volt battery's state of charge. A battery that is running low may therefore not be flagged in time.
If the low charge goes undetected, electrical accessories such as the hazard lights can stop working, or the vehicle can lose drive power. Either situation raises the risk of a crash.
Dealers will recalibrate the body control module and powertrain control module at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed August 26, 2024. For questions, contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and check your VIN for open recalls.
