What this recall means for you
Certain brake lights may flash instead of staying steadily lit, or may not illuminate properly, because of a software defect. The brake lights are also out of compliance with federal lighting safety requirements.
Flashing or unlit brake lights can confuse other drivers about when you are slowing or stopping, which increases the risk of a crash.
The repair is free. Dealers will update the rear brake light software, and Hyundai will also deliver the update over the air to eligible vehicles. Owner notification letters were mailed September 12, 2024. You can contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 (Hyundai recall number 267), and you should check your VIN for open recalls on your vehicle.
