NHTSA campaign 24V518, reported July 8, 2024, 900 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Nova Bus LFS and LFS Artic buses from model years 2021 through 2024 may develop an air leak in the parking brake valve. The leak can unintentionally engage the parking brake without activating the brake lights.

A bus that stops suddenly without its brake lights illuminating raises the risk of a crash, because drivers behind may not see that the bus is slowing or stopping. Owners of affected buses should contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682 and check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.

The remedy is free: Nova Bus will inspect and tighten the parking brake air line connections at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2024.
