Coachmen Cross Trail Recall 24V489: Rear Ladder May Detach While in Use, Risking Injury

NHTSA campaign 24V489, reported June 28, 2024, 34 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The ladder receiver on certain motorhomes may have been installed without the required backer. Over time, this can allow the ladder to come loose from its mount while it is being used.

A ladder that detaches during use can cause a fall or other injury. Owners should avoid using the ladder until the issue has been checked by a dealer.

Authorized dealers will inspect the ladder receiver and relocate the ladder if necessary, at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2024. For questions, contact Forest River customer service at 574-825-8409 or 574-825-8487, referencing recall number 215-1800.
