Altec Aerial Device Jems Hybrid Recall 24V483: A/C Hoses Can Overheat Near Exhaust, Creating Fire Risk

NHTSA campaign 24V483, reported June 27, 2024, 180 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021-2024 JEMS S and JEMS SE aerial device vehicles have inadequate clearance between the air conditioner hoses and the engine exhaust manifold. Over time, this can cause the A/C hoses to overheat.

Overheating A/C hoses can increase the risk of a fire. Owners should take this recall seriously and arrange the repair promptly.

Altec Industries will install a remedy kit that secures the hose routing farther from the exhaust manifold, at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed August 23, 2024.
