Nissan Frontier Recall 24V479: Front Ball Joint May Separate, Causing Loss of Steering

NHTSA campaign 24V479, reported June 26, 2024, 5,929 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A front right-side lower link on certain 2024 Nissan Frontier trucks may have been made with an oversized ball joint. Over time, this can cause corrosion and allow the ball joint to separate from the lower link.

If the ball joint separates, the driver can lose steering control, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and have the vehicle checked as soon as possible.

Dealers will replace the front right-side lower link at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed August 15, 2024. You can contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 (recall PD109), and you can also check your VIN for open recalls.
