What this recall means for you
Certain vehicles have infotainment head unit software that may prevent the rearview camera image from appearing on the screen. Without the camera image, the driver's view behind the vehicle is reduced, which does not meet federal rear visibility requirements and raises the risk of a crash.
The remedy is a free over-the-air software update for the infotainment head unit, delivered remotely by the manufacturer. Owner notification letters were mailed August 9, 2024. You can also contact Polestar customer service at 1-800-806-2504, referencing recall RP1016.
Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) on the NHTSA recall lookup site to confirm whether your vehicle has an open recall, and keep the update installed once it is available.
