NHTSA campaign 24V463, reported June 20, 2024, 30 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that were incorrectly heat-treated. Because of this, the ball studs can break, which may lead to tie rod failure.

If a tie rod fails, the driver can lose steering control, which increases the risk of a crash. Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls, and contact an authorized dealer or Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 if you have questions.

Authorized dealers will replace the tie rod ends and realign the front axle at no cost to you.
