What this recall means for you
Certain 2022-2023 Rivian R1S and R1T vehicles have a tire placard label that lists an incorrect maximum vehicle capacity weight. The label does not match the required standard for tire selection and rims under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110.
Because the placard shows the wrong load limit, the vehicle may be loaded beyond its actual capacity without the driver realizing it. An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.
Rivian will mail you a corrected overlay tire placard label at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed August 8, 2024. You can contact Rivian customer service at 1-888-748-4264 (recall number FSAM-1491), and you can check your VIN for any open recalls on your vehicle.
