Fccc XBS Recall 24V420: Fuel Hose May Separate, Causing Leaks and Engine Stalls

NHTSA campaign 24V420, reported June 6, 2024, 56 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain Freightliner Custom Chassis trucks, the remote fuel filter hoses can separate from their fittings. This can cause a fuel leak and a loss of fuel supply to the engine.

A fuel leak near an ignition source raises the risk of a fire. A lack of fuel can also stall the engine, which increases the risk of a crash.

Cummins will replace the fuel filter hoses free of charge at an authorized dealer. Owner notification letters were mailed July 8, 2024. You can contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 800-745-8000, referencing recall F1003, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
