What this recall means for you
A software malfunction in the anti-lock brake (ABS) control module can disable the electronic stability control system. When stability control is off, the vehicle no longer meets federal electronic stability control requirements, and the system may not help keep the vehicle under control during a skid or sharp maneuver.
Driving with electronic stability control disabled can increase the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware that the vehicle may not respond with the same level of stability assistance it was designed to provide.
The repair is free. Authorized dealers will update the ABS control module software at no cost. Owner notification letters began mailing on July 11, 2024. For questions, contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall number 55B). You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
