Fisker Ocean Recall 24V404: Unexpected Loss of Drive Power Can Raise Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 24V404, reported June 5, 2024, 6,864 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

This recall covers all 2023 Fisker Ocean vehicles. The motor control unit (MCU) and vehicle control unit (VCU) software can unexpectedly switch the vehicle into a safe state protection mode, which cuts drive power while you are driving.

A sudden loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash, particularly in traffic or at highway speeds. The software update is delivered over the air, so the fix is free and does not require a visit to a dealer. Fisker mailed owner notification letters on June 13, 2024.

If you own a 2023 Fisker Ocean, watch for a software update from Fisker and install it when it becomes available. For questions, contact Fisker customer service at 1-844-347-5371 and reference recall TSB10032403. You can also check your VIN on NHTSA's recall lookup to confirm whether your vehicle has any open recalls.
