Honda HR-V Recall 24V384: Rearview camera may not display when started with key

NHTSA campaign 24V384, reported May 31, 2024, 114,686 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Honda Fit and HR-V vehicles have a design error in the audio display power circuit. When the engine is started with a key, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display. These vehicles also do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111 for rear visibility.

Without the rearview camera image, the driver has reduced visibility behind the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash, particularly while backing up. This recall applies to vehicles that were previously recalled under 23V-046, and those vehicles will need the new remedy as well.

Dealers will update the display audio unit software free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 8, 2024. You can contact Honda service at 1-888-234-2138, and you should check your VIN for open recalls.
