KME Redundant Predator Recall 24V363: Parking brake may fail to hold, letting truck roll away

NHTSA campaign 24V363, reported May 23, 2024, 7 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain fire trucks may have an incorrect relay valve installed. This can prevent the parking brake from engaging, so the vehicle may roll away when parked. The vehicle also does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121 for air brake systems.

A rolling vehicle raises the risk of a crash or injury to people nearby. If you own an affected vehicle, do not rely on the parking brake alone to keep it stationary until the recall repair is done.

An authorized dealer will inspect the relay valve and replace it if necessary, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed June 3, 2024. For questions, contact KME customer service at 1-800-235-3928, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
