Turtle TOP Odyssey Recall 24V356: Seat Back May Release in a Crash, Raising Injury Risk

NHTSA campaign 24V356, reported May 21, 2024, 3 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2024 Turtle Top Odyssey, Odyssey XL, Terra Transit, and Van Terra vehicles equipped with certain GO-ES Space Saver Foldaway Seats have a recliner mechanism that may not engage when the seat back is fully reclined. As a result, these vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 210, which covers seat belt assembly anchorages.

If the seat back is not locked, it could release when force is applied to the shoulder belt, such as during a crash. This increases the risk of injury to occupants.

The repair is free. Turtle Top will work with the seat manufacturer, Freedman, to inspect and repair the seats as needed at no cost to owners. Owner notifications were mailed June 21, 2024. To confirm your vehicle is affected or to arrange the repair, contact Turtle Top customer service at 1-800-296-2105, and check your VIN for open recalls.
