Freightliner Business Class M2 Recall 24V335: Parking brake may fail or engage unexpectedly while driving

NHTSA campaign 24V335, reported May 14, 2024, 220 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A rubber ball seal in the Intellipark Park Valve Module (PVM) may crack or fracture, causing a leak. This can lead to park brake failure or the park brake engaging unexpectedly while the vehicle is being driven.

Either condition raises the risk of a crash. If the park brake fails, the vehicle may not hold when parked, and if it engages while driving, the vehicle can slow or stop suddenly.

The repair is free. Dealers will replace the Intellipark PVM at no charge. Owners can also contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712, referencing recall F1000.
