Ford F-150 Recall 24V329: Steering Column Fastener May Separate, Causing Loss of Steering

NHTSA campaign 24V329, reported May 10, 2024, 385 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The lower steering column shaft on certain vehicles may have been attached to the steering gear with an incorrect fastener. Over time, this can allow steering components to separate, which can cause a loss of steering control.

Losing steering control greatly increases the risk of a crash. If your vehicle begins to feel unusually loose, makes new noises from the steering area, or steering becomes difficult or unpredictable, have it checked promptly.

An authorized Ford dealer will replace the lower steering shaft fastener free of charge. Owners were notified by letter starting May 22, 2024, or you can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 24S32. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
