Forest River Aurora Recall 24V325: Trailer brakes may fail to engage if it detaches

NHTSA campaign 24V325, reported May 10, 2024, 3 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The breakaway switch on certain trailers may be wired incorrectly. If the trailer separates from the tow vehicle, the switch may not activate, so the trailer's brakes may not be applied to stop it. A breakaway switch failure increases the risk of a crash.

If you own an affected trailer, contact an authorized dealer to have the breakaway switch rewired. The repair is free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 17, 2024. You can also contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-541-995-34477 and reference recall number 64-1776. Check your VIN for any open recalls on your vehicle or trailer.
