Coach And Equipment Phoenix Recall 24V317: Seat back may release in a crash, raising injury risk

NHTSA campaign 24V317, reported May 6, 2024, 12 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2024 Phoenix shuttle buses equipped with GO-ES Space Saver Foldaway Seats may have a recliner mechanism that does not engage when the seat back is fully reclined. As a result, the vehicle does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 210 for seat belt assembly anchorages.

If the seat back is fully reclined, it could release under the load of the shoulder belt, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant during a crash.

Owners should contact Coach and Equipment customer service at 1-800-724-8464. The manufacturer will direct owners to instructions from Freedman's on how to inspect and repair the seat as needed, and the repair is free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 13, 2024. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
