REV Ambulance Type I Recall 24V281: Electrical fault may fail to cut power, risking fire

NHTSA campaign 24V281, reported April 19, 2024, 76 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain ambulances and wheeled coach vehicles have an electrical control module that may not shut off a circuit during a short circuit or wiring failure. Without that shutoff, the affected electrical circuits can become overloaded.

Overloaded circuits can overheat, which increases the risk of a fire in the vehicle. Owners should take this recall seriously and arrange the repair promptly.

The remedy is a firmware update performed free of charge by an authorized dealer. Owners who have questions can contact REV customer service at 1-855-661-9232, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
