Lexus LS Recall 24V275: Passenger Airbag May Deploy Improperly in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 24V275, reported April 17, 2024, 509 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Lexus LS vehicles from model years 2018 through 2021, including hybrid versions, may have a front passenger seat assembled with parts that interfere with each other. This can cause the Occupant Classification System sensor to incorrectly detect whether the passenger is present or what size they are, and the vehicles do not meet federal occupant crash protection requirements.

If the sensor misreads the passenger, the front passenger airbag may not deploy correctly in a crash, which increases the risk of injury. Owner notification letters were mailed June 7, 2024.

Dealers will inspect and repair the front passenger seat as needed, at no cost to you. Contact Lexus customer service at 1-800-331-4331 to schedule the repair, and check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
