Forest River Wildcat Recall 24V265: Hitch May Break and Separate While Towing

NHTSA campaign 24V265, reported April 12, 2024, 100 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The fifth wheel hitch on certain trailers may not be locked into the "Conventional Transport" position when the rear towing hitch is used. Towing in a different position can cause the upper front structure to break and the pin box to separate from the vehicle.

This separation increases the risk of a crash. Owners should make sure the hitch is locked in the "Conventional Transport" position before towing and should not tow with the hitch in any other position.

Dealers will install a warning label on the hitch and the rear wall of the trailer at no cost. Owners who received the notification letter mailed May 6, 2024 can contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-296-7700 (recall number 15-1755). You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
