Micro Bird G5 Transit Bus Recall 24V241: Defroster May Fail, Reducing Windshield Visibility

NHTSA campaign 24V241, reported March 28, 2024, 1 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A LIN gateway module in certain vehicles may fail, causing the windshield defrosting and defogging system to stop working. The vehicles then do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 103 for windshield defrosting and defogging systems.

An inoperative defroster can leave the windshield fogged or iced, reducing the driver's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. If your vehicle's defroster stops working or you notice reduced windshield visibility, avoid driving until it is repaired.

The remedy is free: an authorized dealer will replace the LIN gateway module at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed May 17, 2024. You can contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012 (recall number 24-105-CUC), and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
