Jeep Cherokee Recall 24V239: Turn Signals May Fail to Stay Off or Cancel Properly

NHTSA campaign 24V239, reported March 28, 2024, 12,221 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The self-canceling feature of the turn signal may not work properly, so the turn signals may fail to clearly show the driver's intended direction of travel. The vehicles therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps and reflective devices. Turn signals that do not function as intended can leave other drivers unaware of your plans, which increases the risk of a crash.

The remedy is free. Dealers will inspect the steering column control module and replace it if necessary. Owner notification letters were mailed August 8, 2024. If you have questions, you can contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall 24B.

You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls on the NHTSA website or through your dealer, and schedule the repair at an authorized dealer as soon as possible.
