Livewire S2 DEL MAR Recall 24V216: Loose Rear Axle Nut Can Cause Loss of Stability

NHTSA campaign 24V216, reported March 20, 2024, 165 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

This recall covers certain 2024 LiveWire S2 Del Mar electric motorcycles. The rear axle and lower shock joint nuts may not have been properly tightened at the factory, so they can work loose over time.

A loose axle or shock nut can cause the motorcycle to lose stability, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and not ride the motorcycle until the inspection has been completed if they have any concern about the rear end.

Authorized dealers will inspect the bike, tighten any loose nuts, and replace damaged components as needed, all free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 26, 2024. For questions, contact LiveWire customer service at 1-855-387-4337 and reference recall number 1002. You can also check your VIN for any open recalls.
