NHTSA campaign 24V196, reported March 14, 2024, 1,831 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain right-hand drive 2016 Jeep Wrangler vehicles may have debris contamination that can cause the clockspring to fail. The clockspring is the part that carries electrical signals to the driver's airbag through the steering column.

The repair is free. Dealers will replace the clockspring, the steering wheel back cover, and the steering column shrouds. Owner notification letters were mailed April 4, 2024. To confirm whether your vehicle is affected, check your VIN for open recalls, or contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall number 27B).
