Nova Bus LFS Recall 24V174: Battery disconnect switch may not work, raising shock risk

NHTSA campaign 24V174, reported March 4, 2024, 36 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some transit buses built in 2022 and 2023 may be missing electrical components needed for the battery disconnect switch to function. If the switch does not work, it cannot cut power to the battery as intended.

An inoperative battery disconnect switch increases the risk of electrical shock and injury for technicians and others during maintenance and repairs.

The repair is free. Nova will install additional wiring and a relay at no cost. Owners who have not received a notice can contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682 and reference recall CR5566. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls, and take the bus to an authorized dealer for the fix.
