Mack Granite (Gr) Recall 24V168: Wrong weight rating label can allow overloading and crash risk

NHTSA campaign 24V168, reported March 1, 2024, 23 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The vehicle certification label lists an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). Because the stated limit is wrong, the vehicle can be loaded beyond what it is designed to carry, which increases the risk of a crash.

If you own this truck, do not rely on the weight rating printed on the certification label until it has been corrected. Be careful not to exceed the load limits, and check your VIN for open recalls to confirm your vehicle is included.

The repair is free: authorized dealers will install new, correct labels at no charge. Owners were notified by letter dated April 10, 2024, and you can contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177 with questions.
