Livewire S2 DEL MAR Recall 24V149: Motorcycle may shut down power while riding, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 24V149, reported February 26, 2024, 523 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The motorcycle's Vehicle Supervisory Control software can wrongly trigger a powertrain shutdown when internal software voltage limits are exceeded. The shutdown can cause a sudden loss of drive power while you are riding.

Losing drive power unexpectedly increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this risk, especially when riding in traffic or at speed.

LiveWire will fix the problem with an over-the-air software update, so no dealer visit is needed for the remedy. Owners can contact LiveWire customer service at 1-855-387-4337 about the recall. You can also check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
