Elkhart Elkc Recall 24V136: Loose Brake Lines Can Cause Loss of Brake Pressure

NHTSA campaign 24V136, reported February 23, 2024, 5 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some buses may have brake lines that are not secured to the driver's side frame rail. The unsecured line can rub against the rail, which can damage the line and cause a loss of brake pressure.

A loss of brake pressure makes a crash more likely, because the brakes may not work as well as they should. If you own an affected vehicle, contact an authorized dealer. Dealers will secure and repair the rear brake lines free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 1, 2024. You can also contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-800-348-7440 and refer to recall number 05-1741.

Whether or not you have received a letter, check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
