RAM Promaster Recall 24V129: Driver seat belt warning may fail to alert

NHTSA campaign 24V129, reported February 22, 2024, 27,744 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022-2023 Ram ProMaster vans may have a driver seat belt buckle problem. The driver seat belt warning light and audible chime may not activate as intended, so the vehicle does not meet federal occupant crash protection requirements.

A seat belt warning system that fails to work can leave the driver unaware that the seat belt is not buckled. This can lead to improper seat belt use and a higher risk of injury in a crash.

Dealers will inspect the driver seat belt buckle and replace it if needed, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed April 9, 2024. You can contact Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) customer service at 1-800-853-1403, and you should check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
