What this recall means for you
On certain Bugatti Chiron vehicles, the audible seat belt reminder chime may not activate when the car is started. As a result, a driver who has not buckled their seat belt may get no warning, and the vehicles do not meet federal occupant crash protection requirements.
Without the chime, the driver may not realize their seat belt is unfastened. Being unbelted in a crash increases the risk of injury.
The repair is free. Authorized Bugatti dealers will update the instrument cluster software at no charge. Owners who have not yet received a notification letter, mailed May 1, 2024, can contact Bugatti customer service at 1-703-826-7545 (recall BUGCR036). You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
