Indian FTR1200 Recall 24V069: Brake lights may light up without rider braking

NHTSA campaign 24V069, reported February 2, 2024, 11,648 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Indian motorcycles may have brake lights that illuminate on their own, without the rider applying the brakes. The brake lights do not meet the federal lighting standard, FMVSS No. 108, which governs lamps and reflective devices.

If the brake lights come on unexpectedly, drivers following the motorcycle may think it is slowing or stopping when it is not. That confusion can lead to a rear-end crash.

Dealers will update the ABS module software at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed March 1, 2024. You can also contact Indian customer service at 1-877-204-3697, and you should check your VIN for open recalls.
