What this recall means for you
Certain 2023-2024 Forest River Salem and Wildwood fifth wheel travel trailers may have an incorrect tire size listed on the Federal Placard, the certification label that tells owners which tires to use. The trailers therefore do not fully meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 120 for wheels and rims.
If the wrong tire size is listed, the wrong tires could be installed on the trailer. That mismatch raises the risk of a crash.
The remedy is free. Dealers will mail new federal placards at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 13, 2024. You can also contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-534-3167 (Forest River recall number 69-1731), and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
