Coachmen Prism Recall 24V050: Furnace may overheat and let carbon monoxide into the cabin

NHTSA campaign 24V050, reported January 26, 2024, 111 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023-2024 Coachmen Prism Class C motorhomes have a furnace that may overheat, which can cause a crack in the burn chamber. That crack can allow carbon monoxide to enter the passenger cabin.

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas, and exposure inside the cabin increases the risk of injury or death. If you own one of these motorhomes, check your VIN for open recalls and contact an authorized dealer to schedule the repair.

Dealers will install the correct cold air return grill as necessary, free of charge. Owners can also contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-825-8602, referencing Forest River recall number 215-1733. Owner notification letters were mailed February 15, 2024.
