What this recall means for you
Certain trailers have a breakaway switch that is wired incorrectly. If the trailer becomes detached from the tow vehicle, the switch and trailer brakes may not activate when needed, so the emergency braking that should stop the trailer may not engage.
Because the trailer may not brake when it separates, it can keep moving unchecked after detaching, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and have the issue corrected promptly.
The repair is free at an authorized dealer: the breakaway switch will be rewired at no cost. Owners can contact Winnebago customer service at 1-574-825-5280, ext. 5220, citing recall number CAM0000034. Owner notification letters were mailed February 8, 2024. Check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your trailer is affected.
