Terex XT PRO Recall 24V042: Boom Bolts May Loosen, Risking a Falling Boom

NHTSA campaign 24V042, reported January 25, 2024, 340 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain boom rotation bearing bolts on these vehicles may not have been tightened properly at the factory. Over time, under-tightened bolts can fail, which could cause the boom to fall.

A falling boom increases the risk of serious injury to operators and nearby people. Owners should stop using the equipment if they notice unusual boom movement or other signs of a problem, and should contact an authorized dealer before continuing to operate it.

The repair is free. Authorized dealers will tighten the boom rotation bearing bolts at no charge. Owners who received a notification letter mailed February 23, 2024 can contact Terex customer service at 1-605-882-4000. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
