What this recall means for you
Certain fire apparatus built on Marion chassis, including Aerial, Pumper, RPM and Rescue models from 2020 and 2021, are equipped with Weldon 8X16 Input-Output nodes. If a short circuit or wiring failure occurs, the node's firmware may fail to shut off the affected output pin, allowing electrical circuits to become overloaded.
Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, which increases the risk of fire. Owners should take this recall seriously and arrange the repair promptly.
The remedy is a free firmware update to the Weldon nodes, which Marion Body Works will coordinate with Weldon. Owner notification letters were mailed January 26, 2024. If you have questions or have not received a letter, contact Marion Body Works customer service at 1-715-754-5261, and check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
