IC Bus Evsb Recall 24V027: Mislabeled High-Voltage Cables Risk Electrical Shock

NHTSA campaign 24V027, reported January 18, 2024, 20 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain electric school buses may have high-voltage positive cables that are mislabeled. These cables connect the battery packs to the manual service disconnects. A technician or first responder could mistake a live cable for one that has been de-energized, which raises the risk of electrical shock and injury.

An authorized dealer will inspect the high-voltage cables and add white high-voltage tape where needed. The inspection and tape are free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 5, 2024. If you have questions, contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 and reference recall 24502. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
