Lode King AHV45-3 Recall 24V021: Trailer ABS Wiring Error Can Reduce Braking Control

NHTSA campaign 24V021, reported January 18, 2024, 6 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Lode King trailers, including 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023 AHV45-3 models and 2024 Prestige AHV50-3 models equipped with a 2S2M or 4S2M anti-lock brake system, may have reversed sensor connections at the ABS computer. Because of this, the trailer does not fully meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121 for air brake systems.

If a wheel locks up during braking, the ABS computer may apply the air brakes on the opposite side of the trailer. This can reduce braking effectiveness and increase the risk of a crash.

Dealers will correct the ABS computer connections free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 5, 2024. For help, contact Lode-King customer service at 1-204-325-4345 or toll free at 1-866-797-0669, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
