Newmar London Aire Recall 24V019: Seat Can Loosen or Detach From Motorhome Floor

NHTSA campaign 24V019, reported January 17, 2024, 160 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The pedestal mounting plate on certain seat assemblies may have been improperly welded. If the weld is missing, the plate can separate, causing the seat to loosen or come off its mounting, and the seat assembly then fails to meet federal seating and seat belt anchorage standards.

A loose or detached seat increases the risk of injury to occupants. Owners should stop using a seat that appears loose and contact an authorized dealer as soon as possible.

Dealers will inspect the seat for a missing weld and replace the pedestal as needed, at no charge to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed January 31, 2024. To check for this recall, contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300 (recall 608 RSB) and check your VIN for open recalls.
