Forest River Cherokee Recall 24V003: Trailer Hitch Can Break, Letting Front Drop to Road

NHTSA campaign 24V003, reported January 5, 2024, 302 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020 Cherokee travel trailers may have a draw bar locking mechanism that can break. If it fails, the front end of the trailer can contact the road while driving.

When a trailer's front end touches the road during transit, the risk of a crash or injury increases. Owners should stop using the trailer until the repair is made if they notice any problem with the hitch connection.

Dealers will replace the Ice Hose swing arm draw bars free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 5, 2024. You can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-4995, and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
