What this recall means for you
Certain 2023 Great Dane Champion trailers have certification labels that may show an incorrect VIN. Because the label may not match the trailer, an owner could look up the wrong vehicle or miss that their trailer is part of a safety recall. If a recall repair is not done, the risk of injury, fire, or a crash could increase.
Great Dane is mailing new certification decals to affected owners at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 5, 2024. If you own one of these trailers, contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493 to confirm your trailer is covered and to request the replacement decal.
Regardless of whether you have received a letter, check your trailer's VIN against the recall records to make sure no open recall remains. Compare the VIN on the certification label with the VIN stamped on the trailer frame, and report any mismatch to Great Dane.
