- Problem
- Pilotcar EV INC. (Pilotcar) is recalling certain 2021-2023 PC-2, PC-4, and PC-6 low speed electric vehicles. The red rear reflectors may detach from the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 500, "Low Speed Vehicles."
- Risk
- A missing reflector reduces the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy
- Pilotcar will install mounting screws and replace missing reflectors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 19, 2023. Owners may contact Pilotcar customer service at 1-239-243-8023. Pilotcar's number for this recall is PC-2023-01.

What this recall means for you
Certain 2021 to 2023 Pilotcar PC-2, PC-4, and PC-6 low speed electric vehicles have red rear reflectors that may come loose and detach from the vehicle. Without the reflectors, these vehicles do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 500 for low speed vehicles.
A missing rear reflector makes the vehicle harder for other drivers to see, which increases the risk of a crash.
Pilotcar will install mounting screws and replace any missing reflectors at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed December 19, 2023.
