What this recall means for you
The rear electronic control unit in certain vehicles may allow the rear spoiler to raise higher than intended. A spoiler raised too high can reduce the visibility of the center brake light and affect how the vehicle drives and handles aerodynamically.
These effects increase the risk of a crash, since a hidden brake light can make it harder for drivers behind you to notice when you are slowing or stopping, and altered aerodynamics can affect vehicle control.
Dealers will update the rear control unit software free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2024. You can contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243, referencing recall APB4, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
