Mercedes-Benz GLE 450e 4MATIC Recall 23V807: Software Error May Lengthen Stopping Distance

NHTSA campaign 23V807, reported December 1, 2023, 2,797 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A software error in the electronic stability program can cause the force needed to stop the vehicle to increase. In that case, the vehicle may need a longer distance to come to a stop than expected.

A longer stopping distance raises the risk of a crash, especially in traffic or when another vehicle or obstacle is close ahead. Be prepared to brake earlier and leave extra following distance until the recall repair is completed.

The repair is free. An authorized dealer will update the electronic stability program control unit software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 29, 2024. You can also contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
