What this recall means for you
Certain school buses have wheelchair track anchorages that may not hold a wheelchair securely and can detach during a crash. The vehicles therefore fail to meet federal school bus passenger seating and crash protection requirements.
If the anchorages detach, a wheelchair occupant may not be adequately restrained, which raises the risk of injury in a crash. Owners should check whether their vehicle is covered and contact the manufacturer or an authorized dealer as soon as possible.
The repair is free. Authorized dealers will reattach the transversal anchorages at no charge. Owners who received a notification letter can contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012, referencing recall number 23-104-TUS, and can check their VIN for open recalls.
