Honda HR-V Recall 23V782: Front seat belts may fail to hold occupants in a crash

NHTSA campaign 23V782, reported November 21, 2023, 303,770 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023 and 2024 Honda Accord and HR-V vehicles have front seat belt pretensioners that may be missing a rivet that secures the quick connector and wire plate. Because of this, the belts may not properly restrain the front occupant, and the vehicles do not meet federal seat belt and occupant crash protection standards.

In a crash, a seat belt that is not properly secured may not restrain the occupant as designed, which increases the risk of injury.

Authorized Honda dealers will inspect and replace the front seat belt pretensioner assemblies as needed, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 8, 2024. You can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
