Lonestar SV Electric S22 Recall 23V768: Battery Fault Warning May Fail, Raising Fire Risk

NHTSA campaign 23V768, reported November 14, 2023, 13 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The vehicle control unit software can disable the battery management system feature that checks the high voltage battery pack for faults. If that happens, the operator may not be warned of a battery malfunction.

Because the warning may not appear, a developing high voltage battery problem can go unnoticed, which increases the risk of a fire. Owners should take this recall seriously and act on it promptly.

Lonestar Specialty Vehicles has released an over-the-air software update for the vehicle control unit, and the remedy is free of charge. Owners who received the notification letter mailed January 19, 2024, can contact Lonestar customer service at 1-903-306-0801. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
